dc.description.abstract Recent trends such as the desire to decrease petroleum dependence, increase bio-content, commercial production of nano cellulose, and changing markets will play a major role in the future of the composites. “Wood-Plastic Composite” (WPC) lumber incorporates recycled material, specially obtained from the agricultural waste, which is seen as an environmentally friendly building material. This will be one of the prosperous businesses of tomorrow. Burning of agriculture waste may seem like a simple method of managing crop residue, but it is actually expensive and damaging. Burning causes problems in many ways, which can be reduced by utilizing the agricultural waste to make WPC material. This study is an attempt to understand the nature of business in the area of Agripreneurship Development for making WPC. The global market for applications of WPC is estimated at about 4.6 million metric tons by 2016,rising at a robust compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.8%, as per “Business Communications Company, Inc” (BCC) Research. Besides building products and automobile industries, the major areas of its applications like Decking, molding & trim and fencing are given here with related statistical data. Thus the WPCs have excellent environmental status and enormous scope for further growth. This is shown in detail. Besides, construction and building products, its advanced applications in the areas of Aeronautics & Aerospace, Automotive, Construction & Infrastructure, Marine, Mass Transportation, Sports & Leisure, and other sectors are incorporated here. Finally this presentation will be useful to share the latest developments in “Wood Plastics Composites” for those, coming from various industries, government and academic background and many more. en_US
