dc.description.abstract Entrepreneurs are one of the major catalyst for economic development. The post liberalization India witnessed a growing diaspora entrepreneurship in different parts of India. Entrepreneurship happens in a complex interplay of political-economic, cultural and psychological factors. While Diasporas are always in the process of adjustment to the new culture innovation and entrepreneurship become part of their adaptive quality in the host country. Based on the secondary sources (statistics from various sectors and departments at national and international level), the paper maps out the various patterns of diasporic entrepreneurships in India. The paper finds that culture mediates between the individual traits (diaspora entrepreneurs) and the institutional environment back home. Unlike Chinese, Indian Diasporas are latecomers in the field of entrepreneurship, but they are the growing entrepreneurs. The paper concludes that it is not feasible to expect large scale entrepreneurial activities from the first generation. The real benefit however can be possible with the second generation entrepreneur who could be facilitated through entrepreneurial policies back home. The paper comes outwith policy suggestions for harnessing the diaspora entrepreneurship through promotion of entrepreneurial policies that will help in technological transfer as well as knowledge dissemination. en_US
