dc.description.abstract The Indian economy is growing rapidly and a strong investment is flowing in to boost the levels of growth but is facing heightened challenges such as population burst, unemployment, lack of true leadership, low innovation, uncertain and very competitive global market and thus needs to be more efficient in the key activities or processes to cope with the challenges. Entrepreneurship could be a sustainable solution in this competitive globalized market for new venture creation; existing venture expansion, social, technological and economic development of the country. However, few studies regarding entrepreneurship have been done in India especially related to engineering and technical disciplines. It is an initial exploratory study, which looks at the situation in a very few higher educational institutions in India. en_US
