Fruits are an important source of energy. However their availability is seasonal and they are
perishable. Hence, they need to be processed and preserved which also results in valueaddition.
India is endowed with many varieties of citrus fruits. Amongst these fruits,
pineapples and oranges are very popular and number of processed products like juices,
squashes, jams, marmalades etc. can be made from them. |
