Abstract:
There is a growing realization that by motivating young technical students to take up
entrepreneurial career, their creative talents can be converted into productive resources
In order to achieve this, it is essential that entrepreneurial values are inculcated in them
along with regular academic inputs. The National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEOB), The Department of Science & Technology (OST), has taken the initiative in introducing
entrepreneurship in the academic curricula of science and technology institutions and
also in setting up of ED Cells in many of them. The most crucial agents, however, in the
process of developing young science and technology entrepreneurs are Teacher-Trainers
with adequate skills, knowledge and information in the area of entrepreneurship. The
Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EOII) has, therefore, been striving to
spread the message of entrepreneurship among the community of teachers, especially in
the engineering/science colleges and polytechnics through its Teachers' Training
Programmes (TTPs)/Faculty Development Programmes. (FOPs)
