dc.description.abstract This paper analyzes and discusses the role of educational institutions in promoting social entrepreneurship promotion and its subsequent impact on sustainable development of the region. The case in point for the discussion is Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar. KISS is the largest residential Institute for tribal in the world; providing accommodation, food, health care, education from Kindergarten to Post Graduation to more than 20,000 students and providing basic amenities. This education and support facilities are not charged. KISS also offers job assistant after completion of education through innovative vocational training programs. Currently, KISS has 60%boys and 40%girls from 62 tribes ofOrissa including 13 primitive tribes. KISS has initiated innovative training models and education interventions for tribals; viz., ‘Earn while you learn’, Livelihood training, Financial Sustainability, Leadership and Personality Development, Education for Social Entrepreneurship, and Cultural Integration. This paper explores the role of KISS in fostering entrepreneurship at various levels of education. The paper also endeavors to explore the role of KISS in preparing and promoting entrepreneurs. en_US
