dc.description.abstract The study examines that till today the concept of entrepreneurship suffers from gender biasness. In a country like India where women entrepreneurship commencing from 70s and it is now gradually growing, women still found various obstacles while pursuing their entrepreneurial journey. The obstacles not only start from their own house but also include society to which they belong. So this study aims at finding out the condition of women entrepreneurship and obstacles faced by the women entrepreneurs of Kalahandi district, Odisha. Especially women belong to the tribal community. Along with that the study also examines the role of government in order to promote and develop women entrepreneurship among the tribal community of Kalahandi district. For this reason we have taken the help of OTELP (Odisha Tribal Empowerment & Livelihood Program) one of programs sponsored by the government of Odisha for the development of SC, ST and other backward class people. As per the trend the result shows that the women entrepreneurs face the same kind of obstacles (both personal and societal) while start their business. But it is great that the government with the help of OTELP provides all sorts of support (financial, educational, and motivational) to these entrepreneurs, as a result many women are now able to became financially independent and support their family livelihood. en_US
