Abstract:
Agriculture was subsistence in its nature in India. Indian economy for a very long time was over dependent on agriculture.More than 70%if population relies on agriculture and Indian economy too depending heavily on it.Due to advancement in the technology and changing in government policies, there is a lot transformation in the field of agriculture. It is found that modern agriculture system provides plenty of opportunities for farmers in vivid forms. Employment opportunities, high-value crops, crop diversification are a few in that category. Government in order to promote agriculture initiated various schemes like crop insurance, investment implications, subsidies. Farmers are aware of markets and market conditions with the support of modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Ex: e-choupals. In spite of all the developments in a few places farmers still face more or less similar problems like their older generation. Against this backdrop a study is undertaken at micro-level to examine with title “Recent trends and challenges for Agripreneurs: with reference to Chitradurga district” (Karnataka).
