Abstract:
Despite of numerous education reforms in the past, it appears that educational processes have not undergone significant changes and that they still stress out values and approaches, which don not support sufficiently innovation and entrepreneurial spirit and culture. University programmes basically provide adequate knowledge and technical skills, but fail to create and improve abilities and skills to implement entrepreneurial behaviour in the real business environment. In order to make educational system more effective and efficient, not only shift from traditional methods
of teaching to methods of learning which support entrepreneurial creativity and intuition is needed, but also significant changes in the way educational institutions operate. In order to be the driving force of economic growth university is expected to be entrepreneurial, to promote and encourage both student and faculty innovations and
entrepreneurship, actively foster transfer of technology, facilitate cooperation with business community and provide more impact on local and regional development. In the process of evolution of the university, a step forward has to be made towards transforming the university from being only the creator and conservator of knowledge, to becoming the key element in the process of spreading and capitalization of knowledge.
