Abstract:
Depending upon boiling points, mixed xylene is
separated into ortho-xylene and para-xylene. All
ortho-xylene is used as raw material for phthalic
anhydride while para-xylene is used as raw material for
PTA (pure terephthalic acid), an intermediate product
for polyester fiber.
