Abstract:
Entrepreneurship has become popular and respectable area today. Entrepreneurship is a lifeblood of any economy, more so in developing economy.. Entrepreneurship is the key to rapid growth of a country. Entrepreneurship is an activity that aims as starting establishing and increasing the size of an enterprise that produces and sell good or service in market .Doing new things and doing things that are already done in a new way is therefore a simple definition of entrepreneurship India has reached at a crossroad where it is essential to have sustainable economic growth, but unfortunately alarming statistics of unemployed population is also on the rise. To combat this situation, the consideration of the ongoing new venture formation, continuing life long education and retraining of labour force are needed to be balanced. The educational institutes with their dearth of resources liked planned network with industries, growing bodies of research, grants etc can definitely and should take up the responsibilities of promoting and cultivating entrepreneurship education. Entrepreneurship education is not just about teaching someone to run a business. It is also about encouraging creative thinking and promoting a strong sense of self worth and accountability. Through entrepreneurship education, students learn how to create a business, but they also learn a lot more. There is an imperative need to integrate the entrepreneurship education in the contemporary educational system, If the dream of an entrepreneurial society is to be realized. Thus the present paper focuses on additional responsibility on the shoulders of academicians to impart entrepreneurship education in the society.
