dc.description.abstract In the new Millennium, things look extraordinarily bright as well as dull for organizations in India. In this intensely competitive era, leveraging and gaining Enterprise competitiveness has become critical. A majority of paradigms of conducting businesses locally and globally are being redefined and rewritten. These have enormous consequences for individuals working at various levels and for the organizations. A number of age-old myths have been shattered and are giving way to new realities. By unleashing the ‘latent’ entrepreneurial spirit of employees, organizations are trying to change the status quo and discuss new horizons. Intrapreneurship is a major driver for organizational renewal. On the basis of extant research and corporate experiences from India, the paper attempts to address the various issues regarding the role of middle level managers as ‘Intrapreneurs’ in the public sector organizations. In the light of the discussion, implications for further study are provided. en_US
