Abstract:
Concrete blocks for buildings were
made for the first time in Europe
around 1850. Mass producti,o.n of concrete
blocks got under way in step with
the development of the cement industry,
chiefly in the Western countries,
especially around 1918.
In the United States, the concrete
block industry recorded a major development
after the introduction of the
vibration process as a new method of
compaction around 1930.
