dc.description.abstract The aluminum industry in Japan has made a rapid advancement in the past few years. The production and demand are second only to the U.S.A. among free nations. Aluminum is used in all sorts of ways, old and new, but its use as household vessels is oldest and the makers have skill which has developed from long experience. The demand in this field has not developed so rapidly as the demand in other fields of aluminum product, but it has developed steadily year after year. Approximately 1,300 tons a month, or 16,000 tons a year, of aluminum vessels are being consumed, and there are nearly 70 large and small makers in this field. The scale of production is approximately 10 tons to more than 100 tons a month. en_US
