dc.description.abstract PRISMATIC COMPASS I. Product and its uses Prismatic compass is il surveying instrument used for finding direction angle in survey work. There are many sizes and types of this equipment in use by surveying and Mining Deptt. The most common type of instrument is of size 4--!-" dia (112mm), bronzed brass case with aluminium circle/divided into half degress, The needle is made of steel with centre and higbly magnetised. The needle can be automatically lifted and lowered. A prism is provided for readina on to hinged shades with reversible mirror. The instrument is provided with Leather sling case and triped for mounting on a Ball and socket joint type. The prism can also be provided as adjustable type for slow motion adjustment & reading. en_US
