The Sheep Shearing Machine is electrically
operated and is used for shearing the wool from
the body of the sheep.
In the past in our country, the wool was
obtained from the sheep mainly by shearing the
wool by hand clippers. In other countries like
Australia and New Zealand, mechanised sheep
shearing is being done with the help of this
machine.
II. Market Potential
The main concentration of sheep in our country
is in the States of Rajasthan, Jammu and
Kashmir Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh,
Andhra 'Pradesh and Gujarat. Rajasthan and
Gujarat have started Mechanised Sheep Shearing.
The main buyers of sheep shearing machines
are Sheep and Wool Department, Animal Husbandry,
Department of State Governments. In
the past sheep shearing machines were imported
from Australia and U.K. and these imported
machines were popular. There is a good scope
of this item in the country.
