Stud/ crew remover are tools used for
extracting out the broken stud or screw from
cylinder heads machine tools etc. These arc
available in a set of 5 pieces of varying dia
from 1.5 rom to 10 mID. One end of the
extractor is squared for holding purpose and
the other end is tapered to about 150 and ha
left hand 'V' threads.
To extract a broken stud or screw a hole i
drilled in the stud or screw: and the extractor
is inserted in it. On giving an anti clockwise
rotation to the extractor. the cork screw teeth
will release the broken screw leaving the original
thread in the hole undamaged.
