dc.description.abstract I. Product and its uses Wick Stove is a very common household utility item. Since it is very simple and ccnvenient to operate and since unlike pressure stove it is without the risk of accident due to bursting, it is becoming more and more popular. To avoid elaborate and crude form of firing arrangement in coal fired chulahs, more and more people are changing over to the use of Wick Stoves for cooking purposes. Even in the houses where coal chulahs are in use, Wick Stoves are kept as stand by and for occasional light cooking purposes, heating of milk for' children and for preparing tea, coffee etc. Since kerosene oil is available in every village for burning lamps, availability of this fuel is more assured to rural areas than that of coal. Hence, Wick Stoves have become popular in rural areas as well. The urban households using LPG stoves, keep a wick stove as stand by. en_US
