Abstract:
Semarang District has a huge potential in the creative industries handicraft and tourism destinations. But
between the two has not occurred any linkage or synergies. This study, aims to examine the development of
handicraft businesses and formulate Creative Industries Development Strategy (Handicraft) as activator
sightseeing In Semarang regency. The results showed that, Semarang regency has huge potential in the
creative industries Handicraft, it's just not able to develop as a tourist destination drive. This proved too
many tourist destinations that have not been available as souvenir handicraft products unique and distinctive
produced by Semarang regency. The pattern of development of creative industries strategy crafts field is
needed to manage both, that occur linkage between the creative industries and tourism destinations by
managing something to see, something to do and something to buy.
