Abstract:
One can find that air conditioners are installed in most office premises in Laos. i
However, due to high cost of electricity and even higher investment cost on I
ibuying air conditioners, there are no air conditioners in residential premises I
lexpect for the houses of the rich and famous. However, the people of Laos are I
not aware of the effectiveness of coolers as a cheap and cost effective 'I
substitute for air conditioners. Cooler manufacturing requires very little skill and,
technology and very little raw material. The investment required is also very I
ilow. People o~ Laos require cool atmosphere at. h?me~.during summer when it is I'
'hot and humid, Cooler are the answer to their tnabllitv to buy A/Cs. However.
Isince this is a new concept in Laos, initial marketing of the product could be
verv tough but considering the demand opportunities both for residential and
commercial uses, this project seems viable.
