dc.description.abstract The rural women of India constitute an indispensable force required on the farm throughout the year and share responsibilities in carrying out most of the farm operations. The majority of Indian women shared the work of men, especially in agriculture, right from harvesting to the collection and storage of grains. Apart from the physical work in the farm such as participation and supervision of the activities, women also take part in decisions relating to farm operations (Sharma and Singh 1970). Rural women in our country share abundant responsibilities and perform wide spectrum of duties. It has been observed that rural women are engaged in a number of agricultural activities such as threshing, winnowing, cleaning and storage (Kaul, 1988). en_US
