dc.description.abstract Youth entrepreneurship refers to the process of enhancing entrepreneurial skills and knowledge through training and institutional building programmes. Entrepreneurship education is aimed at accelerating the base of entrepreneur in order to hasten the pace at which new ventures are created, employment generation and economic development. This study examined the need to promote youth entrepreneurs as a means to reduce unemployment and to create a conducive environment for the entrepreneurial activities to strive. The study was empirical in nature and employed a Bartlett’s test of sphericity which yielded a significant p-value of 0.0001, indicating that the correlation between variables were sufficient for factor analysis. The exploratory factor analysis combined with the interpretability provided evidence of construct validity. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient provided the internal consistency. The resulting Cronbach’s alpha was above the minimum acceptable levels of reliability. The study noted that the challenges faced by Nigerian youths were as a result of bureaucratic business environment and therefore recommended among others that academic institutions, private sectors and government should work together to provide training needs to young entrepreneurs to share information in the areas of financial, market information, equipment and raw material supplies. en_US
