dc.description Thirteenth Biennial Conference on Entrepreneurship/ Edited by Sasi Misra, Sunil Shukla, Ganapathi Batthini en_US
dc.description.abstract Since the beginning of entrepreneurship, nearly 20,000 thousand years ago, it has been dominating the economy and growth of the country and its people. From time to time, it’s been proved that entrepreneurship is not limited to gender, education, any certain community or people. It’s the passion of an individual or group of individuals that makes them a successful entrepreneur. India has become the hub of young and talented entrepreneurs. Both male and female entrepreneurs are coming up with ideas and turning them into profitable businesses. The number of women entrepreneurs has grown over a period of time, especially in the 1990s. The emergence of women entrepreneurs and their contribution to the national economy is quite visible in India. Women entrepreneurs need to be applauded for their increased utilization of modern technology, increased investments, creating a sizeable employment for others, and setting the trend for other women entrepreneurs in the organized sector. Pune is the cultural capital of Maharashtra. Increase in number of residents in Pune is mainly due to the contribution made by migration from almost all other states of the country. The study helps to understand the economic status of women entrepreneurs and factors motivating them to become entrepreneurs and problems faced by them. Present study examines the responses of South Indian women entrepreneurs in Pune city for which data was collected from 43 South Indian women entrepreneurs from Pune Municipal Corporation area. en_US
