The research paper ‘Regional study of a socio-economic cluster in heritage management’ is an attempt to
explore the dynamic functioning of the unit Ahmedabad Heritage Venture Lab and the specialized micro
start-up ventures associated with it in the field of heritage management. The primary objective behind
undertaking this research work was to get acquainted with the functioning styles adopted by such socioeconomic
enterprises. After conducting one to one interview with two entrepreneurs of this socio-economic
cluster, case studies have been formulated to highlight the significant details and data regarding their firms. It
comprises an extensive study of the operations practiced by them. It evidently describes the background and
the entrepreneurial journey of the social and community-based enterprises, the vision and principles of the
entrepreneurs, growth challenges and significant events, support of the government and prominently the role
and the commitment of the Ahmedabad Heritage Venture Lab in all their undertakings and doings. Lastly, it
was initiated to understand the scale and scope of the units at monetary and non- monetary levels. Such
socio-economic ventures have preserved the traditions, heritage and the glorious culture. It has been
consistently working on the lines of Heritage management along with revenue generation. Thus, the purpose
of the research paper is to analyse their work orientation, business morals and ethics and functioning pattern. |
