Abstract:
Building upon extant literature this paper intends to propose the stewardship behaviour as a key antecedent of social entrepreneur behaviour. We use ‘benevolence’ and loyalty as virtues of social entrepreneur’s stewardship behaviour and try to explore its effect on scaling up the impact of social enterprise. This paper also explores the mediation effect of organizational capabilities i.e. staffing, communication, alliance building, lobbying, earnings generation, stimulating market forces, and replication (SCALERS) between social entrepreneurial behaviour (i.e. benevolence) and scaling up of social enterprise impact. It proposes a framework which suggests that the social entrepreneur’s stewardship behaviour (i.e. benevolence and loyalty) positively contribute in scaling up social enterprise impact. And organizational capabilities (SCALERS) mediate this relationship. Towards the end, the paper elucidates implications and future research directions.
