dc.description.abstract | The handloom industry has been playing a dominant role in most of the states of the North Eastern Region, which is exclusively producing products of muga, eri, mulberry, tussar, silk, jute viscose etc. using traditional design and colour motif on different, product lines. The region has the highest concentration of handloom units which is about 14.6 lakhs out of 25.4 lakhs in the country.
