Summary, etc. This study examines the effect of inter-role conflict between the family and business domains among operators of small businesses and family-owned businesses. Findings indicate that work-family conflict can significantly affect both job and life satisfaction of owners as well as their propensity to seek a new line of work. Results vary among owners depending on whether or not they work with other members of their immediate family. Owners that employ other family members experience significantly higher levels of work-family conflict.
