The organizational and social challenges that require HR's contribution are similar to global hunger or climate change - easily dismissed until it is too late. Recent research at the Center for Effective Organizations, and related evidence is used to document future HR requirements and the necessary change in the pace and direction of HR's professional evolution. HR's future can be sustainable, boundary-less, evidence-based, retooled and soulful. This article describes elements of the step-change for achieving that future.
